Random Name Picker: your questions answered

Is the wheel fair? Does the spin speed change who wins?

It is fair. The winner is chosen first by the secure random generator, with every entry equally likely, and then the wheel is turned to land on that winner. The spin speed and your timing have no influence at all.

How do I give someone a better chance?

Add their name more than once. Each line is one ticket, so a name that appears twice has double the chance of a name that appears once.

Can I pick more than one winner without repeats?

Yes. Set “Winners” to the number you need and press Draw. Every winner is different, and you can also turn on “Remove winner after each spin” to run a classic elimination draw.

Can it split a group into random teams?

Yes. Switch to Teams, choose how many teams you want, and press Split. The list is shuffled and dealt out like cards, so team sizes differ by at most one person.

Are my names saved or uploaded anywhere?

No. The list lives only in the page while you are using it. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored in your browser, and closing or refreshing the tab forgets it.

Can I use it for an official raffle or giveaway?

It is a fair way to choose, but check the rules for your country or platform. For high-stakes draws, record your screen during the draw so entrants can see the process, and keep a copy of the entry list.
